On the slopes of a picturesque plot in the heart of Crikvenica, two sophisticated, nearly identical holiday homes have been crafted with a special emphasis on harmony with the natural surroundings. We recognized the unique qualities of the location and used the natural incline of the terrain as inspiration for a design that seamlessly blends tradition and modernity.
Each house consists of three connected units. The central space, crowned with a flat glass roof, functions as a light tunnel, linking private areas with spaces for shared living. The northern section houses a private sleeping area, carefully oriented toward the natural shelter of the terrain, while the southern section opens into a spacious, open-concept area encompassing the kitchen, dining room, and living room. This space fully extends to the terrace with a summer kitchen, sun deck, and pool, offering an impressive view of the island of Krk.
The investors from Austria sought the perfect balance between luxury and simplicity, evoking a sense of home yet providing space for relaxation and enjoyment in nature. Our mission was to bring their vision to life by creating a unique blend of traditional and contemporary architecture. The stone facade connects the homes to local heritage, while large glass surfaces and the flat roof, acting as a modern link between the two units, ensure uninterrupted visual contact with the outdoor area, bringing in a sense of freedom and openness.
A pergola with light shading protects from the sun and creates a pleasant, shaded environment, enhancing the enjoyment of every corner of the space. The project has been submitted for a building permit, and construction is slated to begin in 2025.
